Darlene N. Workman, 80 of Ashland passed away, Monday afternoon, December 31, 2018 in Mercy Medical Center in Canton.
She was born on December 11, 1938 to the late Alfred and Mary Downing in New London, Ohio.
Darlene married the love of her life, James Workman Sr. on April 12, 1954.
She was employed at the A.L. Garber Company for more than 19 years and worked at BookMasters.
Darlene was an artistic lady who loved both vegetable and flower gardening and studying her genealogy. She was an avid Christmas baker and enjoyed traveling. Most of all, Darlene will be fondly remembered by the ones that loved her as a devoted wife and loving mother who’s heart was fulfilled by taking care of others.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 65 years, Jim Workman of Ashland; two daughters, Diane (Duane) Lacy of Ashland and Patricia Robison of Ashland; twelve grandchildren, Christina, Charity, Tim, Tom, Heather, Jason, Jamie, Brian, Jeremy, Stephanie, Alyssa, and Anthony; many great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; one half brother, Daniel Downing; and one half sister, Becky Downing.
In addition to her parents, Darlene is preceded in death by one son, James Workman Jr; two daughters, Gloria Workman and Daneen K. Workman-McGrane; one granddaughter, Stacy Bahr; and two brothers, Kenneth and Darryl Downing.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Reverend Don Earlenbaugh officiating. Interment will be in the Ashland Cemetery on Monday. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
