Anna Spicker, 89 of Ashland passed away, Saturday morning, November 30, 2019 in Crestwood Care Center in Shelby.
She was born February 28, 1930, the daughter of the late Joseph and Paula (nee Lafforton) Minges in Nidorf, Yugoslavia.
On October 18, 1952, she married the love of her life, Hermann A. Spicker. The couple enjoyed 60 wonderful years of marriage.
Anna was a devoted member of St. Edward Catholic Church. She was a homemaker all her life as she and Hermann raised their family of seven children. Anna enjoyed preparing German dishes for her family, cross stitch, needlepoint, and sewing. She was most passionate about her flowers and vegetable garden. She had a beautiful smile that would light up the room.
She is survived by seven children, Wilhelm (Sharon) Spicker, Karl (Anne) Spicker, Dieter (Carol) Spicker, Edward (Lori) Spicker, Christopher (Cathy) Spicker, Annette Spicker and Maria (Jim Coyle) Pruchnicki; eight grandchildren, Amanda (Joshua) VanVleet, Patrick Spicker, Andrea (Andrew) Houghtaling, Jason Matsumoto, Brittany (Luke) Zaletel, Jamie Waters, Grace Pruchnicki and Jack Pruchnicki; four great grandchildren, Max and Maggie Houghtaling, James and Lincoln Zaletel; one expected great granddaughter; and two sisters, Theresa (Joseph) Jakubko and Hilda (Horst) Dehmel.
In addition to her parents, Anna is preceded in death by her husband, Hermann A. Spicker who passed away, June 6, 2013; and one sister, Margaret (Herman) Schneiders.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church with Father Rodney A. Kreidler officiating. Burial will be in the Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, December 6, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home.
