Norma Lou Depler Bush, 82, of Ashland, passed away Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020 at Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital.
She was born Oct. 26, 1937 in Ashland, the daughter of the late John and Kathryn Finley Depler. She graduated from Ashland High School in 1956 and the Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing in 1959 and began working there upon graduation.
She was a registered nurse and, in addition to working at Samaritan Hospital, she was employed at Dover Union Hospital and the Ashland University Student Health Center, completing 45 years in health care before retiring in 2004.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and taught Sunday school for a number of years. She was a member of the Good Samaritan Hospital Alumni Association, Ohio College Health Association and the American College Health Association.
She loved Cleveland sports, but most of all she enjoyed her grandchildren and family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Tom Huff; two sisters-in-law, Deloris Sweeney and Gloria Pinkley; and one brother, Frank Depler. She was most recently preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard Bush, who passed in April 2018. They were married Nov. 12, 1959.
Survivors include one son, Mark (Cheryl) Bush of Youngstown, Ohio; one daughter, Gayle Baehr
(fiancé Kevin Smith) of Gahanna, Ohio; three grandsons, Zachery and Nickolas Bush, both of Ohio and Christopher Baehr of California; one sister, Rebecca (Tom) Huff of Ashland; one brother, Raymond Depler of Groveport, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held, Friday, January 17, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Reverend Michael Koch officiating. Following the service, a meal and time of fellowship will be in the Legacy Room of the funeral home. Interment will be in Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
