Hilda and her husband moved to Wellington, OH. From Waynesburg, PA. in 1952 where they raised, trained and raced Standard Bred Horses and owned and operated W.H. Auto Repair.
Hilda taught the kindergarten class at Wellington Methodist Church where she was a member until she moved to Ashland in 1977. She later became a member of the Ashland Church of the Nazarene where she was very active in the Missionary Society, worked in the Nursery and taught the “Bullfrogs and Butterflies” class. She cleaned the church weekly for 14 years until the retirement of Pastor Ivan and Loretta Beatty.
In 1985 she went to work as a housekeeper for Brethren Care, retiring after 20 years due to severe health issues.
She started a Bible Study in 2006 that met weekly in her home. She sadly leaves behind her Bible Study group, made up of many great friends and their teacher Lois Shilliday, her dearest friend.
She loved to cook and bake, creating many of her own recipes which she enjoyed serving to her “Bible Study Girls”.
She spent many hours daily reading her Bible and praying for those in need. She also prayed for beloved family and friends, and all the lost, that they would find Jesus as their savior and join her one day in her heavenly home.
She eagerly awaited the glorious day when God would call her home and what a glorious day it was.
