He was a 1964 graduate of Smithville High School.

David was a veteran of the United States Army and was called to active duty while serving with the Shreve Unit of the Ohio National Guard.

Zack was a great guy and well known around in the construction business. It’s rumored Zack left his initials some where in the stone wall at Green Leaf Restaurant when it was built. I could never find them.

I worked with Zack years ago at Wenger Excavating. He was a good co-worker and friend. I always enjoyed talking with him when we would see each other years later. He will be missed and remembered. John Hostetler

To David's Family, sorry for your loss! I was born in Nova, Ohio & grew up with him until he moved away from Nova. We meet again in Wal-Mart a few years ago & I would see him at auctions. Was always nice to talk too & remember some old times! I see he was well loved & done service for our Country & for young boys to help them learn. Good man! RIP David
