Lawrence D. “Larry” Myerchin, 78, of Mansfield, passed away Saturday December 19, 2020 in the Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital.

Larry was born December 9, 1942 in Crookston, Minnesota to the late Daniel and Elaine (Sorenson) Myerchin. He was a graduate of Canton McKinley High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Bob Jones University of South Carolina. Larry was an ordained minister, retiring from the pastorship at the Community Baptist Church of Mansfield. He currently attended Calvary Baptist Church in Ashland.

Larry was known by his family and friends as a craftsman, avid dog lover, and enjoyed the outdoors. Most importantly he loved and served the Lord.

Larry is survived by his wife of fifty years, Carol (Patterson) Myerchin, to whom he was married June 13, 1970, and numerous extended family members. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his stepfather Peter Wuorio, and his sister, Marjorie Slutz.

In practice with social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic, at this time, a private graveside service will be held Wednesday December 23, 2020 at 2:30 P.M. in the South Lawn Cemetery of Coshocton with Pastor Josh Cehulik officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Larry’s honor to the Faith Promise Mission Fund of Calvary Baptist Church, 210 Davis Road Ashland, OH 44805.

My wife and I both met Larry at Maranatha Baptist Church. We both attended summer camp at O'Dell Lake where he and Paul Swanson were counselors. We thought a lot of Larry and asked him to marry us in 1975. We are sorry for Carol's loss but rejoice in the fact that one day we will see him again. Thanks Larry for your testimony and your friendship towards us. Bob & Sharon Harned
