Gayle Christine Thompson, 54 of Ashland passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 in University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center.
She was born on May 9, 1966 the daughter of Gaylord and Katheryn Jane (nee Krause) Abrams in Ashland, Ohio.
Gayle graduated from Ashland High School Class of 1984. She married the love of her life, Jamie Thompson on May 3, 1986.
Gayle was employed at Edward Jones for many years, retiring in 2019. She worked many years in banking at First Federal Bank in Wooster and Sutton Bank in downtown Ashland.
Throughout her life she was a member of the Methodist church and enjoyed crafts, jewelry making and attending car shows with her husband.
Gayle was a beloved daughter, loving wife, caring mother, and a devoted grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Jamie Thompson of Ashland; one son, Tyler (Ashley) Thompson of Ashland; her parents, Mr. Gaylord and Mrs. Katheryn Abrams of Ashland; her mother-in-law, JoAnn Thompson; two grandchildren, Alyssa and Bryce Thompson; five sisters, Becky Lynn Thomas, Rebeca Jane Mayer, Elizabeth “Susie” Boyer, Patricia Jean (Paul) Becker, Teresa Ann (John) Huntley; and many special nieces and nephews.
Gayle is preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Jeff Thomas; her father-in-law, Charles Thompson; a nephew, Andy Boyer; and a niece, Emily Becker.
Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Mrs. Sally Wile officiating. Interment will follow in the Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call Monday evening, January 4, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Edward Jones, 1173 East Main Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805 in care of college funds established for her grandchildren.
For those unable to attend, the service will be available via Facebook Live from the funeral home’s Facebook page.
