Betty L. Brockway, 86 of Ashland passed away on Saturday morning, February 6, 2021 in Good Shepherd Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born of February 27, 1934 in Fern, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Clarence and Virginia (nee Shorts) Switzer.
Betty graduated from Danville High School, Class of 1952. She married the love of her life, Roger Dean Brockway on April 3, 1953.
She retired from the Pentair Company, and was previously employed at Grants Clothing Store.
Betty was a devoted member of Grace Brethren Church where she enjoyed bible studies, her ladies group, and singing in the choir. She was an avid reader and bowler at Luray Lanes throughout her life.
Betty is survived by one daughter, Deb (Timothy) Markel of Ashland; two sons, Douglas (Kathleen) Brockway of Ashland and Dean (Stephanie) Brockway of Shenandoah; eleven grandchildren, Shannon (Jeremy) Jennings, Sarah (Greg) Summers, Sheldon Markel, Nicholas (Melissa) Brockway, Erin (Aaron Gulan) Brockway, Ryan (Sarah) Brockway, Maci Brockway, Kylie Brockway, and Cooper Brockway, Joel (Kristen) Brockway, and Daniel (Ashley) Brockway; 12 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Roger Dean Brockway who passed away on January 11, 2021; one son, Dennis Brockway on January 18, 2012.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in the Grace Church with Reverend Greg Summers officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the church. A private family interment will take place at a later date in the Ashland County Memorial Park.
